Review before you remove

Bulk Delete Bluesky Posts with Review and Filters

BskyDelete helps you load your own Bluesky posts, narrow the list, review selected records and send confirmed deletion requests. It is a controlled cleanup workflow—not an automatic or guaranteed one-click wipe.

What the Bluesky post deleter actually does

BskyDelete is a web-based review and batch-action tool for records in the Bluesky account you connect. In the Posts workspace, you start a search, inspect the returned posts, select the records you intend to remove and then start the deletion. The interface reports progress and keeps failed records separate from confirmed successes so that you can check the result instead of assuming an entire batch disappeared.

Delete all Bluesky posts therefore means working through the posts returned for your account and filters. A broad search and Select All can prepare a large cleanup, but the selected set is still visible before the destructive action begins. Your account history, service availability, BskyDelete plan quota and Bluesky API responses can all affect how much work completes in one attempt.

Filters available before bulk deletion

Start with the narrowest criteria that describe the posts you want to review. A smaller, explainable result set is easier to verify than a timeline-wide selection.

Basic search controls

  • Keywords in post content.
  • Publication date from and to.
  • Posts with media, without media or either.
  • Select All for the currently visible filtered results.

Paid-plan advanced filters

  • Minimum and maximum like, repost and reply counts.
  • Posts that mention specified users.
  • Posts containing specified hashtags.
  • CSV export of selected posts before deletion.

Some filter changes clear the current selection to reduce accidental actions. Recheck the selected count whenever you change media or advanced filters.

A safer workflow for mass deleting posts

  1. 1

    Connect the intended account

Enter your Bluesky handle and continue through the official AT Protocol OAuth authorization flow. Check the account and requested access before approving it.

  2. 2

    Search and narrow the list

Load the Posts workspace, apply keyword, date or media criteria and use advanced filters if your plan includes them. Let the current search finish before judging the result set.

  3. 3

Review and back up what matters

Inspect the posts and selected count. Paid plans can export selected rows to CSV for reference. The CSV is a backup of fields such as content, dates, links and engagement counts; it is not a restore package that can recreate a deleted post.

  4. 4

    Confirm and verify the result

Start with a small nonessential selection, follow the progress report and read any item failures. Refresh the workspace and verify important changes directly on your Bluesky profile before starting another large batch.

OAuth and browser-side data boundaries

BskyDelete does not ask for a Bluesky password or App Password. The browser OAuth client manages the authorized Bluesky session on your device. Authorized requests still travel from the browser to the Bluesky account provider, because that provider must return records and process changes.

Posts and selection data are loaded for the action you request and processed in the browser; BskyDelete application servers are not designed to persist copies of that Bluesky content. Separate account, analytics and subscription providers operate under the current Privacy Policy. Disconnect the Bluesky account after using a shared device, and never send passwords, OAuth tokens or recovery codes to support.

Deletion is permanent, but copies may remain elsewhere

A successful deletion removes the selected record from the connected Bluesky repository. BskyDelete does not provide an undo button. Export or otherwise save anything you may need before you confirm, and test the workflow with one record when you are unsure about a filter.

Removing a Bluesky record cannot guarantee removal of screenshots, quotes, search caches, third-party archives, embeds or copies already held by other services. Replies and references created by other accounts may also remain. Use the tool to manage records you control, not as a promise that every trace disappears from the internet.

Quotas and Bluesky API rate limits

The Free plan allows up to 30 successful deletion or unfollow actions per local calendar day across supported workspaces. Paid plans remove BskyDelete's daily quota, but they do not remove limits or temporary failures imposed by Bluesky, an account provider or the network.

Large jobs are processed in controlled batches. If a provider returns a rate-limit or availability error, wait before retrying and first identify which records already succeeded. Repeated overlapping attempts make partial results harder to audit and cannot force the provider to accept more requests.

Common reasons a post still appears

The list is stale

Refresh the workspace and the Bluesky profile before sending the same request again.

The OAuth session changed

Reconnect through OAuth when the interface reports that authorization is invalid or revoked.

Only part of the batch succeeded

Use the reported success and failure counts, then retry only records that remain.

The provider rejected a request

A rate limit, service interruption or changed record can prevent completion. BskyDelete cannot bypass those responses.
