Why Can't I Delete My Bluesky Posts? Troubleshooting

If a Bluesky post still appears after a deletion attempt, first verify the actual result rather than immediately repeating the request. The page may be showing stale data, the request may have failed, or only part of a batch may have succeeded.

BskyDelete can display the result returned while processing selected records, but it cannot diagnose every network, browser, OAuth, or Bluesky service problem and cannot guarantee that every deletion request will succeed.

Common Reasons a Post Still Appears

• The list has not refreshed: The current page can still show a record that was removed. Reload the Posts workspace and also inspect the profile in Bluesky.
• The wrong account is connected: Confirm the handle and account before selecting anything.
• The OAuth session is no longer authorized: A revoked or invalid session can prevent a request. Reconnect through the official OAuth flow when an authorization error is shown.
• The network request was interrupted: A connection loss can stop a request before Bluesky confirms it.
• Bluesky returned a rate or service error: API limits and temporary availability problems can delay or reject some requests.
• A batch only partially succeeded: Some selected records may be gone while others remain. Read the reported item results before retrying.
• The post reference changed or is already unavailable: A stale local row may no longer match a record that can be deleted again.

These are possible causes, not a remote diagnosis of your specific account. Use the returned error and a fresh profile check to decide the next step.

Troubleshoot with BskyDelete

1. Confirm that the intended Bluesky account is connected through OAuth.
2. Open Posts and load the current records.
3. Use a precise keyword or date filter to find the affected post.
4. Select one known post first instead of immediately retrying a large batch.
5. Confirm the deletion and read the success or error message for that record.
6. Refresh the Posts workspace and check the Bluesky profile in a separate view.
7. If the message indicates authorization trouble, reconnect with OAuth and try the single record again.
8. If Bluesky reports a rate or temporary service error, wait before retrying. Repeated overlapping requests can make it harder to tell which operation succeeded.

BskyDelete sends the selected action through Bluesky's API. API limits and service errors still apply; the tool does not bypass or automatically eliminate them.

Before Retrying a Larger Batch

• Recheck the active filters and selected count.
• Verify which records already disappeared.
• Export selected posts with a paid plan if you need a reference before deletion.
• Remember that the CSV is not a restore package and cannot recreate a deleted post.
• Test the same conditions with a small selection.
• Keep the page open until the current operation reports a result.

The Free plan can complete up to 30 successful delete or unfollow operations per local calendar day across supported workspaces. Paid plans remove BskyDelete's daily quota, but not Bluesky API limits or temporary failures.

Protect Your Credentials While Troubleshooting

BskyDelete uses the AT Protocol OAuth specification and does not require a Bluesky App Password. Never send a password, OAuth token, recovery code, or browser session data to support. If you used a shared device, disconnect the account after finishing.

Verify the Result, Not a Promise

A reliable check is observable: the request reports success and the post no longer appears after fresh data is loaded from Bluesky. If a request continues to fail, record the exact error, selected count, approximate time, and browser details without including credentials. Those facts are more useful for support than assuming that rate limits, sessions, or errors were handled automatically.
