BskyDelete is a browser-based tool for reviewing and cleaning up activity on a connected Bluesky account. It organizes current posts, likes, reposts, and the accounts you follow into separate workspaces so you can filter the data, select individual records, and confirm a bulk action.

The important distinction is control: BskyDelete does not decide what should disappear and does not run scheduled cleanup rules. You review the records that are loaded, choose the items yourself, and confirm before a delete or unfollow request is sent to Bluesky.

What BskyDelete Can Manage

WorkspaceData you can reviewAvailable action
PostsPosts from the connected accountExport or delete selected posts
LikesLikes created by the connected accountExport or delete selected likes
RepostsReposts created by the connected accountExport or delete selected reposts
FollowingAccounts the connected user currently followsExport selected rows or unfollow selected accounts

Following and followers are different relationship directions. The Following workspace manages accounts that you follow; it does not remove people who follow you and does not provide a historical unfollower log. The official AT Protocol getFollows Lexicon describes the current following list returned by the network.

How the Review and Confirmation Workflow Works

  1. Connect the Bluesky account through the official AT Protocol OAuth flow. BskyDelete does not ask for a Bluesky App Password.
  2. Open the relevant workspace and load the current records available through Bluesky.
  3. Narrow the list with the filters available for that data type. For example, posts support keyword and date filters, while Following supports handle, display-name, bio, and mutual-relationship filters.
  4. Inspect the matching records and select only the items you intend to change. Before confirming, recheck the active workspace, filters, and selected count.
  5. If you want a reference copy, export the selected rows before deletion. An export is a record for review; it is not a restore file that can recreate deleted Bluesky records.
  6. Confirm the selected action. Requests are processed in batches, and completion time can vary with the selected count, Bluesky API limits, retries, and temporary service conditions.
  7. Review the reported result. A failed request should be retried only after checking which records actually succeeded.

Deletion and unfollowing are account changes, so a broad filter is not a substitute for review. Start with a small selection when testing a new filter combination.

Basic and Pro Filters

Every workspace provides practical ways to find records before acting. Depending on the workspace, these include keyword, author, date, media, handle, display name, bio, and current mutual-follow status.

Pro users can access additional filters based on public metadata, such as engagement-count ranges for posts and profile-count ranges in Following. The Following workspace also includes heuristic inactive-account and suspicious-bot signals. These signals are review aids, not factual labels: they use public profile attributes and activity ratios, cannot prove that an account is abandoned or automated, and should not replace a manual profile check.

Plans, Quotas, and Bluesky Limits

The Free plan can complete up to 30 successful delete or unfollow operations per local calendar day across the supported workspaces. Monthly and Yearly plans remove BskyDelete's own daily deletion quota. Bluesky API rate limits, network availability, and request failures still apply to every plan.

Large selections therefore are not guaranteed to finish in a fixed amount of time. Keep the page open while an operation is running, review partial failures, and avoid starting overlapping cleanup jobs for the same account.

Security and Product Boundaries

BskyDelete uses the AT Protocol OAuth specification for account authorization. Review the requested access during connection and disconnect the session when you finish using a shared device.

BskyDelete does not provide automatic scheduled cleanup, historical unfollower tracking, follower analytics, bulk following, or Bluesky account deletion. It also cannot edit your profile bio, avatar, or handle. Its purpose is narrower: help you inspect current account activity and submit selected delete or unfollow actions with an explicit confirmation step.

That narrower scope makes the workflow predictable. Load the relevant data, filter it, inspect the selection, export a reference when useful, and confirm only the records you are prepared to change.
